Job Context

    Job Context: LEDARS (Local Environment Development and Agricultural Research Society) is an NGO Affairs Bureau affiliated NGO working in the southwest coastal region of Bangladesh since 1996. The southwest coastal region is one of the climate-vulnerable areas of the country and people are suffering the negative impacts of climate change severely. this context, LEDARS is going to implement a program entitled `Community-based Resilience, Women`s Empowerment and Action (CREA) Project` in Shyamnagar Upazila of Satkhira district with the financial support of Manusher Jonno Foundation (MJF) and the Embassy of Sweden in Bangladesh. LEDARS is going to hire a Project Officer for this project. It is a senior-level position and will be the key person for program operation. Following are the major job requirements of this post.

Job Responsibilities

  • Have knowledge on Job-related good conceptual understanding, training, awareness, community mediation, and other programs at the union level.
  • Assist the Project Coordinator to develop overall planning for the project implementation based on the proposal,
  • Ensure implementation of all activities of the project in a qualitative and quantitative manner.
  • Ensure proper coordination to field level staff and administration,
  • Coordinate with relevant Govt. officials to ensure participation in the project implementation.
  • Maintain regular communication with different stakeholders such as different government representatives, CSOs, civil societies, local government Institutions (LGIs), youths, NGOs, CBOs, and women leaders at union, upazila, and district levels.
  • Able to develop training modules, schedule, hire trainers and organize training, workshop, and other events in the field.
  • Monitoring and supervision of all staff field-level activities and providing quick support to the staff.
  • Support field visits of donors, journalists, visitors, and other stakeholders.
  • Support PC to prepare an action plan, work plan, and periodic progress report and submit to the higher authority of LEDARS and donor agency.
  • Ability to develop reports both in qualitative and quantitative in English and Bangla.
  • Able to write success stories, case studies, social media posts, and regular updates to the LEDARS website.
  • Good knowledge of computer operation including Office software, internet browsing, use of social media tools, etc.
  • Have strong interpersonal skills to develop relationships with project stakeholders.
  • Assist other staff to smooth the operation of another project, if necessary,

Educational Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Social Science, Climate Change, Disaster Management, Agriculture, Technical Education Livestock, etc. Can be relaxed for more experienced candidates.

Experience Requirements

  • At least 6 year(s)

Additional Requirements

  • Age at most 45 years
  • 6 years to above of working experience on a relevant job with at least 3 years in climate change/gender-based violence and governance/right-based approach/SAT implementation, training, etc.
  • Women are highly encouraged to apply.
  • Experience in working on climate change, good governance, women empowerment, and DRR project context will get priority.
  • Interested to travel in rural areas.
  • Good knowledge of computer operation including office software and internet browsing.
  • Candidates having a valid driving license will get special privileges.
  • Candidates having valid driving licenses, will get special priority.
  • Have the willingness to visit the field (at least 50%) and face challenges.

    Tk. 33000 (Monthly)
